Welcome to Paindoc, the home of
MilHac
... a Windows-based logbook for UK
anaesthetic trainees during pain medicine training.
Current stable version:
2.1beta
This Web-page has, at present, one function: it hosts the
pain log book developed by Drs Barry Miller and Nick
Hacking.
This log book is intended for use by anaesthetic trainees
in the UK, to allow them to keep a log of their training in
chronic pain.
To install: click the link (top left) and download the
file called "Setup.exe " to your
PC.
Double click on "Setup.exe " this will install the
program and required files. It will create a start-menu entry
called Pain Log Book,
containing links to MilHac.exe, a ReadMe file and a Help file.
MilHac has been tested on Windows XP and Windows 98
machines. We expect that it will work under Windows 2000. It
does run on Windows Vista but there
are "issues
". It does not run on any other platform as
yet*.
The programme is currently (March 2008) "in beta"
-
-that is to say it has not yet had
wide field testing. As we gain feedback, we will be able to
provide more advice, and updated versions will appear on this
page.
Support is currently only available to registered UK
trainees.
To Register:
Send an e-mail to: logbook
at paindoc dot co dot uk (Hint - change 'dot' and 'at' to symbols)
Simply state in your e-mail that you are a UK anaesthetic
trainee and that you intend to try MilHac.
We hope, and expect, that our users will provide feedback
and error reports.
MilHac is provided, free of charge, for
personal use only. The authors (Dr Barry Miller and Dr Nick
Hacking) assert their intellectual rights to the programme and
will charge for any commercial, corporate or government
use.
Individuals may distribute this programme to
others freely but may not make any sort of charge for
it.
The current program is a beta distribution.
We cannot be held responsible for data loss or corruption
(these are matters best left to Her Majesty's Government) but
we will try to help with any problems (if we can) that
registered users might encounter.
